INTRO
Welcome to the rehabilitation program for individuals who have had a hip replacement and are in the four to eight-week post surgery period. We emphasize the importance of safety, strengthening the joint, improving flexibility and range of motion, and engaging in exercises under the guidance of a physical therapist. We encourage you to join the program to ensure complete rehabilitation. Back

1. Ankle mobilisation adding arm extensions across body
2. Heel slides

LYING DOWN ON SIDE
4. Clam shell working abductors - one side only
5. Getting out of bed safely
STANDING WITH CHAIR/TABLE FOR SUPPORT
6. Bent knee raises
7. Hip hinges
8. Lateral leg raises
9. Bilateral heel raises
10. Calf stretch
11. Breathing Back

STANDING GOOD POSTURE
1. Heel raise march
2. Balance challenge - arm reach

6. Bridge Pose 5 sec 6 reps
7. Quad Sets/Leg Lifts 4 reps both sides

12. Single Knee Lifts (6 x) on non-surgical leg
13. Mini Squats (6 x)
14. Hip Abductions (6 x) both sides
15. Heel Raises (6 x) with hold
16. Practice Gait with cane or walker Back

1. Ankle pumps/circles adding wrist circles and straight arm lift overhead and straight arm cross body touches
2. Unilateral heel slide (leg curl)
3. Leg adduction squeezing pillow between bent-up knees

6. Standing posture check
7. Standing knee raise with support
8. Squats with support
9. Standing lateral leg raises (abduction) with support
10. Standing heel raise with support
11. Standing calf stretch
